A massive traffic jam happening in orange street lights of almost pitch black sky? This photo in page 4 of Star Metro caught my attention today, Wednesday 29 August. When I took a closer look, it was about the traffic jam leading to the Malaysia International Fireworks Competition (MIFC) at Putrajaya on Saturday 25 August night. It was a night of spectacular and beautiful fireworks displays by Team Italy.

Jason Lee, Weng, relatives and yours truly were lucky that we were not caught in the mammoth traffic jam. One of my colleagues was not that lucky – he was caught in a 3-hour traffic jam and did not make it to the destination to witness the fireworks displays.

The next exciting fireworks displays will be scheduled tomorrow, Thursday 30 August – the eve of Merdeka Day. We will be there again knowing that the traffic jam will be worst than before. We are still analyzing the location by using Google Map to identify a strategic location for the perfect photos shoot.

This time, the fireworks will be staged by Team Japan. We hope to see that even the fireworks displays contain the element of high-technology. Possibly, they can display fireworks in the shape of a Toyota Camry instead of the star shape by Team Italy.

As I told my friend, I was enthralled by the fireworks displays and the 10 minutes were the most ecstatic moment in my life. You have to be there to experience the awesome sight and exhilarating ground shaking blast sound.

Here is wishing you an enjoyable and memorable evening in watching the fireworks display.

Happy 50th Merdeka Celebrations.
