Badminton Group Dinner

The Magnificent 7 + 2 badminton players were having their half-yearly get-together dinner on Wendesday evening, 6 August.

The original date was scheduled to be on Wednesday 13 August. Though the sound of the date is "sure live and prosperous", it clashes with the Olympics. No activities should be scheduled to clash with this once-in-4-year priority event, unless it is of utmost importance.

The group plays badminton every Friday evening. We have been playing for a few years already. Playing badminton is excellent as cross-training for running, and running is good to build up the endurance and stamina for badminton.

The 'new Bee Gees' - Alan Cheng, TanCA and Stephen P5 singing a Bee Gee's number and emulating the famous pose of Gibb's brothers in covering the ears.

While waiting for the rest of the members to arrive, we fired the first salvo with the karaoke session. The best singer in the group has to be Alan Cheng with the full, matured and powerful voice, while yours truly (KC) is only a backup singer.

The food was delicious and, hmmm… yummy. The members ‘wallop’ the first few courses with gusto – fast, precise and clean. With the big serving, the going was a little slow then. The last few courses were like running uphill – slower but steady.

Front (L-R): TanCA, Alan Cheng, PangKB, YongYH

Ah Kit is working in Shell while Wah chai (similar sound as in the Hong Kong Heavenly King singer, Andy Lau) is a local distributor for most Chinese recording labels; the rest of the members work in Banks.

A friend, Yap, after seeing the photo above (with hands covering the ears), replied: "Wow! That must be some dinner... what with some recitation thrown in; praying for the well-being of our country, I hope!"

Ha ha ha ha… Different view, different perspective! That could be perceived that a few Chinese guys there were doing some recitation; the visible message is prominently displayed by the poster on top highlighting something "smooth sailing".
