Footloose June 2008

This edition of the Pacesetters Footloose has a photo of Pacesetters Club Vice-President, Francis Toh, holding the Olympic Torch during the Torch Run in Kuala Lumpur a few months ago. And the Olympic in Beijing will soon start on 08.08.08 (date), 08:08:08 p.m.

During the Olympic weeks, I shall slow down on the number of postings in order to spend more time watching TV.

I refer to the 15K "thank you message from pacesetter president" in its June 2008 footloose addition.

I am dissapointed that no thanks was offered to the NON-Members (51%) that supported your race(s) in addition to the extra RM10 admission fees (total RM35) we need to pay to your club to participate.

There are other longer distance races in town who charges a lot less (without club membership fees) which comes with breakfast and quality vest that the non-members can go to if our support is not appreciated by your president.

After having ran the 15K this year, I really do not see the justification for RM35 fee. It has a record number of car break ins, the running route narrow, poor organisation during the start (not enough ribbons, no warning before the start - causing confusion), starting the race with a hill, unhealthy breakfast (nasi lemak, cendol etc) for a club that promotes healthy lifestyle via running etc.
