KL Marathon - Looking for a Roommate

Miss Dory, a Chinese runner friend from Penang, is looking for a female runner to share a room with. She will be participating in the KL Marathon on 28 June 2009 in the half marathon category.

As recommended by yours truly (KC), she has booked a Deluxe Room (with window view) in Winsin Hotel consisting of 2 single beds. The room cost is RM98 a night; so if a female runner were to share, then it will only be RM49 per person per night. Some of the facilities of this hotel includes hot shower, air-conditioned room, laundry service and also hot and cold water dispenser.

The hotel is only 200 meters to Dataran Merdeka, the starting point of KL Marathon 2009, and it is just a stone's throw from Central Market (a landmark for Malaysian culture and heritage) or Chinatown (Petaling Street) of Kuala Lumpur.

If you know any of your female runner friend who is interested, please contact her.

Background Story:

A few weeks ago, I was pleasantly surprised to receive an email from Dory. She would be participating in the KL Marathon and she is looking for an alternative hotel accommodation. Her first choice of hotel accommodation is about 1.3km to Dataran Merdeka.

Immediately, those hotels around Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman (TAR) and Chinatown areas come into my mind. I informed Jason Lee (the photographer) and he is most kind to enquire the following hotels from Chinatown areas:

StayOrange Hotel

Winsin Hotel
Grand Olympic Hotel
Hotel MalayaSwiss Inn
HotelAncasa Hotel
D'Oriental Inn Chinatown Hotel
.

After going through the brochures of various hotels above, I suggested Winsin Hotel which is nearest to Dataran Merdeka (from Central Market direction). Besides, the Nepal trekking agent, Cheban, while he was here to promote the tourism of Nepal in 2008, has also stayed in Winsin hotel for one night also.
